Rajiv Narain
Managing Partner

Rajiv Narain graduated from the School of Architecture CEPT Ahmedabad and the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich in 1990. As the principal designer at Rajiv Narain & Partners he has experienced design challenges spread over a vast and diverse design canvas. His belief in “Experience Design” and “Sense of Place” has assisted in crafting a unique set of design environments for institutions, hotels, offices and residences.

His guiding philosophy and design vision for Manvar the Desert Camp Rajasthan, has over the years, not only created an acclaimed tourist destination, but has also generated a sustainable socio-economic community that continues to grow and transform constructively over time. The project was awarded the Hospitality Pinnacle Design Award in 2001.

Rajiv’s research thesis – Understanding the Nature of a City, Delhi a comparative reading with respect to time and scale - was selected for inclusion in the US Library of Congress and was part of a limited edition publication by the School of Architecture CEPT Ahmedabad. During his formative years as an architect he was deeply involved with academics and served as a faculty at the TVB School of Habitat Studies New Delhi.

As an Advisor to the Delhi Urban Arts Commission, in 2008, Rajiv authored an urban revitalization proposal for the sensitive Lutyens Bungalow Zone in New Delhi and was instrumental in drafting a new set of design and conservation guidelines for this area. He has contributed articles on architectural criticism to leading architectural journals and has lectured extensively.

Prior to establishing an independent architectural practice, Rajiv worked with the Swiss American Group of Architects Zurich and was a Partner in MN Ashish Ganju Mark Warner Rajiv Narain Architects New Delhi.
